1. Substrate Preparation

Clean the surface: Remove dust, debris, oil, loose concrete, or old coatings from the substrate (e.g., concrete, metal) to ensure it is dry and free of contaminants.

Repair defects: Fill cracks (width >0.3mm) or potholes with non-curing coating mixed with fine aggregate, or use a dedicated repair mortar. Ensure the substrate is flat; uneven areas should be leveled.

Moisture check: The substrate's moisture content should be ≤8% (test with a moisture meter) to avoid blistering after construction.

2. Material Preparation

Heating the coating: Non-curing waterproof coating is supplied in solid or high-viscosity paste form and must be heated to melt. Use a dedicated heating tank (with stirring function) and heat to 180–200℃ (avoid exceeding 200℃ to prevent material degradation).

Stirring: Continuously stir during heating to ensure uniform consistency- the melted coating should be a smooth, flowable viscous liquid without lumps.

3. Construction Methods

Commonly used methods include troweling and spraying, depending on the area and thickness requirements:

 

Troweling (for small areas or detailed parts):
Use a serrated trowel or 刮板 (squeegee) to apply the melted coating evenly onto the substrate. Control the thickness (typically 1.5–2.0mm for single layers; adjust based on design requirements). Ensure full coverage without missing spots.

Spraying (for large areas):
Use a high-pressure spray gun connected to the heating tank. Adjust the spray pressure to ensure the coating is evenly distributed. Maintain a consistent distance (30–50cm) from the substrate to avoid uneven thickness.

Lap and joint treatment: For overlapping areas (e.g., between construction sections), apply an extra layer of coating (thickness ≥2mm) to ensure no gaps. For corners, pipes, or other details, reinforce with non-woven fabric or fiberglass mesh embedded in the coating.

4. Composite Construction (if paired with waterproof membranes)

Non-curing coating is often used as an adhesive layer with waterproof membranes (e.g., modified bitumen membranes) to form a "coating + membrane" system:

 

After applying the non-curing coating, immediately lay the membrane while the coating is still viscous (within 10–15 minutes).

Roll the membrane firmly with a rubber roller to expel air, ensuring full adhesion between the membrane and the coating. Overlap membrane edges by ≥10cm, and seal the overlaps with additional non-curing coating.

5. Construction Conditions & Notes

Temperature requirements: Avoid construction when the ambient temperature is below 5℃; if necessary, preheat the substrate (to 10–15℃) to prevent the coating from cooling and solidifying too quickly.

Weather restrictions: Do not construct in rain, snow, or strong winds (≥5 winds), as moisture or dust can affect adhesion.

Safety precautions: Wear heat-resistant gloves, goggles, and protective clothing when handling hot coating. Keep fire extinguishers nearby during heating to prevent fire risks.

6. Curing & Maintenance

Non-curing coating does not "cure" into a solid film, so no waiting time for full curing is needed. However, avoid stepping on or disturbing the surface for 24 hours after construction to ensure stable adhesion. Protect the coating from direct sunlight (if exposed) with a protective layer (e.g., mortar, geotextile) if required by design.
