Work Suggestions
Mix according to the recommended proportions in the product manual. Usually, polymer cement-based waterproof coatings require cement, polymer emulsion and water to be prepared in a certain proportion. Ensure that the mixture is evenly mixed and no bubbles are generated.
The stirring time should not be too short. It is usually recommended to stir for 3-5 minutes to ensure that all ingredients are completely uniform and no dry powder is left. It can be operated with a mechanical stirrer according to the product instructions.
After stirring, let it stand for 5-10 minutes, and then stir it again before use. This helps to improve the adhesion and construction performance of the coating.
The coating should be applied in two coats. The first coat is usually applied by roller, brush or spray, and the base surface is evenly covered with a thin coat. When brushing, it should be done from top to bottom to avoid slipping or accumulation of the paint.
The thickness of each coat of paint should not be too thick. Usually, the thickness of each coat is 0.8-1mm. The total thickness of two coats is generally 1.5-2mm. Ensure that the coating is even and there is no missing paint.
It is recommended to use the cross-brush method, with the first coat applied vertically and the second coat applied horizontally to ensure that each part is evenly covered to avoid omissions.
Polymer cement-based waterproof coatings should be used as soon as possible after stirring. It is usually recommended to use them within 30-60 minutes to prevent the coating from losing its working performance due to volatile water.
During the brushing process, avoid paint accumulation or sagging, especially when applying on walls or facades. This can be avoided by reducing the amount of paint or using a thinner brush.
During construction, the paint should be prevented from drying too quickly. In hot and dry weather, the paint may dry too quickly, affecting its adhesion and waterproofing effect. The ambient humidity can be adjusted appropriately by spraying water mist, etc.
Transportation And Storage
The paint is usually packaged separately in plastic barrels (liquid materials) and composite bags (powder materials). The packaging should be sealed intact to prevent leakage.
The packaging should have waterproof, moisture-proof, sun-proof and other labels, and indicate the product name, production date, shelf life and other information.
Paint should not be transported together with flammable, explosive, toxic or corrosive chemicals.
In case of rain or snow, waterproof canvas should be used to cover the product to prevent moisture from affecting product quality.
Powder should be placed on a pad to prevent moisture from entering the ground. The stack height should not exceed 10 bags to prevent the packaging from being crushed.
Avoid storing it in the same warehouse with strong acids, strong alkalis and other chemicals to prevent chemical reactions.
Keep away from fire and heat sources. The warehouse should have good ventilation facilities to prevent the emulsion from deteriorating due to high temperature.
If the liquid material is found to have slight precipitation or stratification, it can be continued to be used after stirring evenly.
