 RUIDE Brand Vegetated Roof-Specific Root-Resistant Waterproofing Membrane is a modified bitumen waterproofing roll material. Key Points Of Planted Roof Structure Design

 

 

● Structural Layer:
The roof structural layer shall be constructed with cast-in-place reinforced concrete of strength grade not lower than C20.

● Slope Layer:

Use lightweight materials with adequate strength (e.g., expanded clay, aerated concrete) to form a slope of 1%-3%.

● Insulation Layer:

Apply materials with high strength, low thermal conductivity, and low water absorption, such as extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam insulation boards, rigid polyurethane foam insulation, or foam glass, with a maximum thickness not exceeding 4cm.

● Leveling Layer:

Use a flexible waterproofing layer, followed by cement mortar screeding. Ensure a smooth, moist-cured surface without looseness, sanding, or hollowing.

● Waterproofing Layer:

Select environmentally friendly, waterproof, corrosion-resistant, mold-resistant, high-performance flexible waterproofing materials (rolls or coatings) that adapt well to substrate expansion, contraction, or cracking.

● Root-Resistant Layer:

Employ non-toxic, pollution-free physical or chemical root-resistant waterproofing materials. Specifically recommended: RUIDE Brand Vegetated Roof-Specialized Root-Resistant Modified Bitumen Waterproofing Membrane.

● Drainage/Water Retention Layer:

Install plastic drainage boards, rubber drainage mats, or a 20-50mm vermiculite layer above the root-resistant layer to form a drainage/water retention system with adequate voids, load-bearing capacity, and water storage capability.

● Filtration Layer:

Prevent soil loss by laying 200-250g/m² polyester non-woven fabric as a filtration layer over the drainage layer.

● Green Vegetation:
Pre-grown turf mats and soilless grass carpets can be directly laid, or specific planting forms can be arranged using modular planting boxes. Alternatively, based on the thickness of the planting soil, select drought-resistant, cold-resistant plants (flowers, trees, etc.) suitable for local climate conditions-particularly micro-environments-and compliant with ecological and environmental requirements. Tested Results: Summer indoor temperature: Average 3~5°C lower than non-greened roofs. Energy savings: Rooms with roof greening reduce air conditioning energy consumption by approximately 70% compared to non-greened ones.

● Building and Waterproofing Material Protection:

Tested Data:Annual maximum temperature difference on concrete roof surfaces: 58.2°C (unvegetated) vs. 29.2°C (vegetated).Significantly reduces thermal expansion/contraction amplitude of roof structures and materials, slows aging processes, and extends service life by 2~3 times.
