Polyurethane Roof Paint
Polyurethane roof paint is a high-performance coating widely used for waterproofing, protection and beauty of roof surfaces. Made of polyurethane resin, this coating is widely praised for its excellent durability, weather resistance and flexibility. It is particularly effective in residential and commercial applications where long-term protection is required. The curing of polyurethane paint is a cross-linked network structure formed by the reaction of isocyanate and hydroxyl compounds, which gives the coating strong wear resistance, compression resistance and ductility. Polyurethane roof paint has good corrosion resistance to a variety of chemicals (such as acids, alkalis, oils, solvents, etc.), so it can effectively cope with the requirements of industrial environments and heavily polluted areas.

7. Abrasion resistance
8. Long service life
9. High oxidation resistance
10. Aesthetics and environmental protection
11. Anti-permeability and low temperature resistance
Work Suggestions
Do not apply in rainy, extremely cold or hot weather conditions. Too low temperature (below 5°C) will prolong the drying time and may affect the adhesion of the coating. Too high temperature (above 35°C) will cause the coating to dry too quickly and form an uneven coating.
The optimal application temperature is 5°C to 35°C, and the relative humidity should be less than 85% to avoid high humidity affecting the curing of the coating.
The ratio of polyurethane coating and curing agent must be strictly in accordance with the requirements of the instructions. Too much or too little curing agent will affect the quality and effect of the coating.
After the coating is completed, avoid immediate exposure to extreme weather, such as heavy rain, strong wind, etc.
Polyurethane coatings usually take some time to fully cure, and can only be put into use after they are fully cured.
Transportation And Storage
Polyurethane coatings react easily with moisture, so during transportation, they should be protected from rain and moisture and covered with waterproof tarpaulins. Use containers that meet the packaging standards for dangerous goods (usually metal barrels or special plastic barrels), and the packaging must have good sealing to prevent leakage. Paints should not be mixed with chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and oxidants to avoid chemical reactions. Polyurethane paints may undergo self-polymerization reactions in high temperature environments, and may even cause explosion risks. Therefore, high temperature exposure should be avoided during transportation, especially in high temperatures in summer, and cooling measures should be taken (such as nighttime transportation, covering with heat-insulating materials, etc.). It is recommended that the transportation environment temperature be controlled within the range of 5°C~35°C. Each vehicle transporting polyurethane paints should be equipped with a sufficient number of fire extinguishers, usually dry powder fire extinguishers or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers.
High temperatures will accelerate the evaporation of solvents, causing paint crusting and even self-polymerization; low temperatures may increase the viscosity of the paint or cause precipitation. The air humidity should be controlled below 75% to prevent moisture from entering the container and reacting with the components in the polyurethane paint, resulting in curing or deterioration. Polyurethane paints are usually packaged in metal barrels or special plastic barrels. These containers should have good sealing properties to prevent solvent evaporation or contact with air. The inner wall of the metal barrel should be coated with an anti-corrosion layer to prevent the paint from corroding the container and extend the service life of the packaging container. Polyurethane coatings generally have a certain shelf life (usually 6 to 12 months). After the shelf life, the coating may increase in viscosity, precipitate, and delaminate. Performance testing is required and it can only be used after it is confirmed to be qualified.
For two-component polyurethane coatings (main agent and curing agent), the main agent and curing agent should be stored separately to prevent accidental contact and mixing. The curing agent container should be used up as soon as possible after opening, and the unused part should be sealed with an inert gas (such as nitrogen) to prevent it from reacting with moisture in the air.
